Front Dormer Window

I've framed and sheathed the front wall of the dormer and I've got the window installed. This seems to be getting easier as I go along.

I still have to finish the peel-and-stick flashing around the window. (Just waiting for the silicone dry first.)

Front Roof Taking Shape

The first dormer on the front is finished; except for the front wall which I've left open so that I can get access to the rest of the roof. I'm also done the roof sheathing on the rest of the left side of the house. (I think I can finally see the light at the end of the roofing tunnel.)

Front Dormer Progress

Well, this is progressing along just fine. I've got the sides sheathed and house-wrapped and part of the roof sheathing done.

Front Dormer

I've started work on one of the front dormers now. The biggest challenge here is the fact that I had to build a platform from which to work from because there is second floor in the front half of the house.

Dormer Shingling

Just for a change of pace I've taken a break from framing and started shingling one of the dormers.

Dormer Window Installed

Today I installed the window in the second dormer on the north side of the house. Everything went very well and it only took me half as long to do as the first one. Practice makes perfect.

More Plywood On The Roof

I've got the roof sheathing almost done on the north side of the house now. All I have left is the top two feet, which I'm not going to do until I have the south side finished.

More Lookout Rafters

I've got the lookout rafters done on the north-east side of the main roof above the bedroom roof I finished shingling a few days ago. I couldn't do these lookouts until I'd finished the bedroom roof shingling because of the close clearances between the rooflines. That's a bit of a mistake on my part, I should have designed it so there was more room between the two roofs. Lesson learned.
